Discover The Transformative Power Nada Healing

After over 20 years of training in yoga, meditation and body work in India and southeast Asia, I found healing techniques—such as sound therapy—that were hidden from most of the modern world.

The sounds of ancient prayers being chanted in the temples of Asia transformed my understanding of healing. Grace led me to the Buddhist temples in northern Thailand, the ancient Hindu Temples of south India, the Monasteries of the Himalayas, and the older churches in Switzerland. One common thread that wove throughout these journeys was how the vibrations of the chants and prayers radically transformed my body, mind and spirit within minutes. This divine sound, known as nada in India, is said to be the cosmic flow of energy that arises from the heart. The sounds of the ancient prayers, whether they were Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Christian, Jewish, or Muslim, had a massive impact on me. In all of the healing modalities I offer, sacred sound is always flowing through me, either silently in my heart and mind or out load as a mantra. Nada, this sound that originates from the heart, is the energy that guides me through each and every session..

Nada Healing

“Swami Stitchananda”

My first nada yoga teacher in India was a very humble tailor, whom I lovingly nicknamed Swami Stitch-ananda; ananda means bliss and he was a blissful tailer. He ran a small, local temple in a hut. He met with me every day, during the very early hours of the morning. He chanted verses from the Bhagavad Gita while I listened quietly. His sweet calm voice warmed my heart and calmed my mind. Little did I know, he was actually healing the emotional wounds within my heart. Everything was from his heart, from his stitching to his chanting, and even the way he looked at someone was filled with compassion. I felt nurtured just being around him. The greatest pearl of wisdom he ever gave me was, “On the spiritual path, first we must purify the heart, then everything else comes naturally.” His life was a song that he sung from his heart to others…this is nada yoga.

About Nada Healing

What is Nada Healing?

Nada Healing is a virtual holistic wellness and spiritual healing practice founded by Joshua Barr and based in San Diego, California.

The approach looks at the whole person—body, mind, emotions, energy, lifestyle, relationships, family patterns, and spiritual well-being. Sessions may draw from Medical Intuitive work, Ayurveda, Karmic Unwrapping, Ancestral Healing, Reiki, Sanskrit mantra, and sound healing depending on the individual and what emerges during the session.

The intention is to help you better understand the patterns influencing your well-being and create a more personalized path toward greater balance, clarity, and connection.

Who founded Nada Healing?

Nada Healing was founded by Joshua Barr, a holistic wellness practitioner with more than 20 years of experience studying and practicing healing traditions including Ayurveda, Reiki, yoga, meditation, mantra, sound healing, and intuitive energy work.

Joshua's approach has been shaped by extensive study and practice in the United States, India, and Asia. Today, he brings these different traditions together into an individualized whole-person approach through Nada Healing.

Where is Nada Healing located?

Nada Healing is based in San Diego, California, but sessions are offered virtually, allowing Joshua to work with clients throughout the United States and internationally.

Because the practice is virtual, you do not need to live in San Diego to work with Nada Healing.

Are sessions virtual?

Yes. Nada Healing offers private one-on-one virtual sessions, allowing you to participate from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Virtual sessions make it possible to work together regardless of where you live and can be especially helpful when discussing personal areas such as health concerns, emotional patterns, relationships, family history, spiritual questions, or men's health.

What is a Medical Intuitive Session?

A Medical Intuitive Session is a whole-person intuitive exploration of your physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual well-being.

Rather than diagnosing disease, Joshua uses intuitive observation to explore patterns and possible connections involving the body, emotional stress, lifestyle, energy, Ayurvedic tendencies, relationships, and deeper ancestral or karmic themes.

The purpose of the session is to help you look at your experience from a broader perspective, recognize meaningful connections, and develop a clearer direction for your personal healing and wellness journey.

For most new clients, a 90-minute Medical Intuitive Session is the recommended place to begin.

What is Karmic Unwrapping?

Karmic Unwrapping is a signature intuitive healing approach developed by Joshua Barr to explore recurring emotional, relational, behavioral, and energetic patterns that may be connected to past experiences or the influence of others.

Rather than viewing karma as punishment, Karmic Unwrapping works with the idea that difficult experiences and relationships can leave lasting emotional and energetic impressions.

Through intuitive insight, Reiki, Sanskrit mantra, breathwork, and energetic healing, Joshua works with these patterns with the intention of helping you release what no longer serves you and reconnect with greater clarity, strength, and your authentic sense of self.

What is Ancestral Healing?

Ancestral Healing explores emotional, relational, energetic, and spiritual patterns that may have been carried through a family lineage.

Families can pass down much more than physical characteristics. Beliefs, fears, relationship patterns, emotional responses, cultural experiences, and ways of coping with life can also move from one generation to another.

At Nada Healing, Ancestral Healing uses intuitive work, energetic healing, and ancient Sanskrit mantra to bring greater awareness to these patterns while also honoring the strengths, wisdom, and blessings within your ancestry.

The intention is not to blame previous generations, but to better understand what may have been carried forward and create space for a different way of living.

Does Nada Healing offer Reiki remotely?

Yes. Nada Healing offers distance Reiki and energy healing through virtual sessions.

Reiki does not require physical touch. During a distance Reiki session, Joshua works with Reiki, meditation, intuitive awareness, and other energetic practices to support relaxation, grounding, emotional balance, and a greater sense of connection.

Sanskrit mantra or sound-based practices may also be incorporated when appropriate.

What is Nada Healing's Men's Health program?

Nada Healing's Men's Health program is a private, one-on-one virtual approach to men's wellness that looks beyond physical health alone.

Sessions may explore areas including stress, energy, vitality, emotional health, relationships, sexual wellness, lifestyle, aging, purpose, confidence, and spiritual connection.

Depending on the individual, Joshua may integrate Medical Intuitive work, Ayurveda, Karmic Unwrapping, Ancestral Healing, Reiki, energy healing, Sanskrit mantra, and sound healing.

The goal is to create a comfortable place where men can look at the different parts of their lives together rather than treating physical health, emotions, relationships, sexuality, stress, and spirituality as completely separate issues.

Men who are new to Nada Healing may begin with a Men's Health Initial Consultation.

Is Nada Healing a replacement for medical or psychological treatment?

No. Nada Healing is a complementary wellness and spiritual practice and is not a replacement for medical diagnosis, medical treatment, psychotherapy, psychiatric care, or other licensed healthcare services.

Medical Intuitive work, Reiki, Karmic Unwrapping, Ancestral Healing, Ayurveda, mantra, and other services offered through Nada Healing are intended to provide additional perspectives and support for personal wellness, self-awareness, emotional growth, and spiritual development.

If you have a medical or mental health concern, you should continue working with an appropriately licensed healthcare professional.
